Becoming A Member - We invite you to speak with Rev. Todd Cooper or Debbie Reding, if you would like to join JWUMC. After you have spoken with one of them, you can join at the end of the service, in the church offices or even over the phone. A pastor will ask you the vows of membership: Do you have faith in Jesus Christ? Will you support this church with your prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness? If you can answer, "I do! or Yes!" for these questions, you will be welcomed into the household of faith at JWUMC.
Are you joining a church for the first time, coming back to a church after a long absence or have never been baptized?
Any person desiring to confess faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and wishing to serve Him as your Lord, may become a member of the church by Profession of Faith. If you have not been baptized, after conversation with one of the pastors, we will arrange for that to happen. If you would like to be baptized or need a child baptized, please contact Dorothy Adams.
Are you currently a member of another denomination?
If you are already a member a member of another denomination, we receive you by your covenant vows. You will be transferring your membership to John Wesley United Methodist Church. The United Methodist Church honors baptisms from other Christian denominations so new members will not be baptized again. After receiving you into the United Methodist Church, we will contact your former church and advise them of your new membership.
Are you currently a member of another United Methodist Church?
If you are a member of another congregation of the United Methodist Church, we will receive you by Transfer of Membership. The church office will write and secure a Certificate of Transfer for you.
