Summertime is flying by in the Dunbar household. We are enjoying the summer humidity and heat (not really). Our family vacation is a couple of weeks away. It will be wonderful to have all the kids together before Jillian goes off to college again in August. Summertime for me has always been a mid-year blessing. Yes, it is hot, but it always comes when I need it the most. I love to get outside and do yard work in the heat or be up later with the kids since we do not have to get to school the next morning. As King Solomon once said, “For everything, there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.”
Summertime is also about movies for me. I love sitting in a cold theater enjoying a blockbuster movie. This week our At The Movies series starts in all three worship services. This is always a fun time to explore “God’s voice” through the art of movies. I think God has a lot to say to us over the next four weeks. Please join us in worship or online. Do not forget to invite a friend or family member to join us in worship for At The Movies.
You will notice a slight change for the 8:15 am and 11:15 am services during the At The Movies series. There will be a simplified bulletin for the four weeks of this series. This simplified bulletin will give worshippers more room for taking notes and reduce our paper/print consumption during the summer. All hymns, words, and liturgy will be announced and on the screens.
I pray you are enjoying your Summer.
