Girl Scouts and John Wesley UMC
Since 1912, the foundation of Girl Scouts has been a spiritual one based on the Girl Scout Promise. By helping girls become stronger members of their own faith, religious groups join Girl Scouting in inspiring girls with the highest ideals of character, conduct, patriotism and service. Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council enjoys the ongoing assistance of religious organizations like our church.

John Wesley UMC provides a home for many local Girl Scout troops whose leaders are members of our congregation. These troops are part of our church family. Along with providing facilities, the church also offers other resources including publicity for Girl Scout programs and events, a source of volunteers, and invitations for Girl Scouts and their families to participate in church events.
In return, Girl Scout troops coordinate and collaborate with our church. Girls’ service projects often benefit our church and support our church ministries.

Because of this powerful partnership, Girl Scouts continue to have the opportunity for fun, fellowship and personal growth.

Girl Scout Promise
"On my honor, I will try:
to serve God and my country,
to help people at all times,
and to live by the Girl Scout Law." |
Girl Scout Law
I will do my best:
To be honest and fair, friendly and helpful,
considerate and caring, courageous and strong,
responsible for what I say and do, and
to respect myself and others, respect authority,
use resources wisely,
make the world a better place and
be a sister to every Girl Scout |
