Through study opportunities, we are nurtured as we grow spiritually. In these groups, we question and struggle with relevant life issues and together grow in faith and maturity as we become equipped to disciple to the world beyond the walls of the church.
Spring session 2 studies will continue to be on Zoom. Click on the links after each study description to register. Once you have registered, you will receive a confirmation email that includes Zoom links. For more information, contact Grow Coordinator, Lisa McCarthy.
Spring 2021 Session 2
Wednesdays, February 10 - March 3
(No classes on Ash Wednesday, February 17)
Grow Your Prayer Life
Led by Kathleen Spangler - To have a relationship with someone, you have to spend time with them. This also applies to our relationship with God. That may be why in 1 Thessalonians 5:17, Paul counsels us to "pray without ceasing." We will look at scripture for guidance on how to grow our prayer life and discuss various purposes, types, and modes of prayer. We will draw inspiration from people of prayer and discuss practical tips to keep prayer at the center of our lives.
Amazing Grace Women's Study, Part 1
Led by Rev. Cheryl Smith - Part 1 of this topical women's study uses as its foundation, Kathleen Norris' NY Times bestseller, Amazing Grace; A Vocabulary of Faith. (Part 2 will be offered next session.) Be prepared to arrive at class having read the short essay for the week (3-5 pages) and prepared to explore the themes of faith with your classmates! Readings will invite you to think about old themes and assumptions in new ways, and the community and discussion of others will enrich your life in multiple ways. We will explore topics such as perfection, belief doubt and sacred ambiguity, idolatry, Mary, Mother of God, blood, exorcism, and much more. Please purchase the book HERE prior to the first class.
- Register for Amazing Grace - Wednesdays at 9:30 am

Revelation and the End Times
Led by Dr. Marty Dunbar - The Book of Revelation is mysterious, complex, and powerful. The study of Revelation and the end times is essential during this time in history for the nation and the world. Specifically, followers of Jesus need to know what it says and how it might be interpreted in connection to present-day events. There will be no homework, just reading the text verse by verse, and deep thought about the words of God. We will look at the end of times, the Rapture, the Antichrist, the Tribulation, and the one and only Revelation, Jesus the Christ. This is a 24-week ongoing study which began during the fall sessions. Participation in the fall is not a requirement. Jump in anytime!
