The Prayer Ministry is a vital and growing ministry here at John Wesley United Methodist Church . Here are some of the ways you can serve God through prayer:
ALTAR PRAYER TEAM – After every Sunday worship service, there are trained people with the calling of intercessory prayer who will pray privately with you. Matters discussed with a prayer partner are confidential and remain between the people involved in the prayer.
PRAYER BLANKET MINISTRY - This ministry involves a prayer blanket/lap cover gifted to individuals experiencing serious health concerns. The prayer cover extends a tangible blessing, a sacramental gift of the healing prayers offered by the church family. Each blanket is dedicated in prayer and anointed with oil, lifting the recipient, by name, in prayer.
PRAYER RESOURCES - Periodically we provide resources to unite the church family with daily Bible readings and prayer reflections in order to focus our thoughts and prayers.
OTHER OPPORTUNITIES – From time to time, we sponsor prayer vigils, breakfasts, seminars, and special services (Taizé, Lectio Divina,) with a special emphasis on prayer.
PRAYER TEAM – An e-mail prayer list is activated when people request prayers for themselves or their loved ones. Prayers are also requested for concerns in our community and nation. To place a concern on this prayer list, a request can be filled out online, on a card when at church, or by calling the church office and asking for it to be forwarded to the list-master.
