Health, Wellness & Prayer

I took them up in my arms; but they did not know that I healed them. - Hosea 11:3

Jesus taught His disciples to pray during quietness or the rushing winds of a storm. He prayed to be in communication with the Father, He prayed for people, and ultimately became the perfect intercessory between God and humanity. Jesus not only prayed, but He also cared for people. He had compassion for others and made caring a priority at every turn. As disciples of Jesus Christ, we are all called to prayer and care. These practices of a disciple are essential to nurture our spiritual growth and nurture those in need.

GRIEF SHARE
It hurts to lose someone. GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. Check the events page for periodic Grief Share sessions.

STEPHEN MINISTRY
Stephen Ministry equips lay people to provide confidential, one-on-one Christian care to individuals in our congregation and community who are experiencing crisis or difficulty. Stephen Ministers receive 50 hours of structured training before being commissioned. Confidentiality is of high priority so that care receivers do not have to worry that their problems will become public within or outside of the church. Stephen Leaders and Stephen Ministers can be identified by their blue name tags, and can answer any questions you might have about this ministry.

GRIP (Generations Reaching In Prayer)
Praying for the future is important. If we believe God has a plan for our lives, then it makes little sense not to consult Him about what's to come. Just the same, we can offer an invocation for our children and grandchildren's futures. GRIP meets on the first Thursday of each month at 10:00 am in the Prayer Chapel. All are welcome to come join this multi-generational prayer group who prays specifically for generations of children in our lives and in the world.

FUNERALS
The death of a loved one is a substantial loss. We want to make this painful transition time of sorrow and grief less lonely and overwhelming by assisting in funeral services for our members and their families. We are available to answer questions about death and life after death. We also offer support and help to families and individuals during this very difficult and sorrowful time. Please contact one of our pastors if you are in need.

PRAYER BLANKET MINISTRY
This ministry meets on the second Tuesday morning of each month from 9:00 am -11:00 am in the JW Pavilion to sew beautiful blankets and quilts which are blessed and offered to people in need of comfort and a reminder of Christ's love and healing. There is no need to be an expert in sewing to participate.

JOURNEY OF A LIFETIME
Caregiving is difficult. Don’t go it alone. If you are helping a loved one journey through the challenges of aging or chronic illness, please join us. Our group combines evidence-based educational elements with a supportive group atmosphere. Thursdays, 10:00 am - 11:30 am | Room A206. This group is free and open to the congregation and the community.
